One thing I will never get used to - someone getting kicked in the head, and the person doing the kicking not getting 2 points. Canadian fin weight Gonda kicked Zajc from Sweden in the head twice. No points. Lost by two.
Ouch.

The NBC web coverage has some commentary where they have been explaining some of the fine points of the competition scoring...apparently 3 of 4 judges all must agree within 1s...
That makes sense...I didn't realize it was THREE out of four, and in such a short timeframe. I did notice a few referees calling conferences right after what looked like a solid hit...but didn't see any points awarded.
